UCLA Staff Assembly hosts its first L@L event of the 2019-20 season with the Behavioral Intervention Team.
About this Event
UCLA Staff Assembly hosts regular Learn-at-Lunch events for all UCLA employees. This month we are partnering with the Behavioral Intervention Team to learn about workplace violence prevention efforts at UCLA .
UCLA is committed to providing a safe work environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors – one that is free of violent behavior and threats of harm. UCLA prohibits violent behavior and threats of harm affecting the workplace. Such behavior violates both law and University policy. The Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) is a multidisciplinary team consisting of representatives from Campus Counsel, Staff & Faculty Counseling, Insurance & Risk Management, UCLA Police Department and Employee & Labor Relations.
About the Department:
The mission of BIT is to promote campus safety by identifying threats of harm (and potential threats) and evaluating information reported to BIT, including early warning signs of possible disruptive and/or violent behavior. BIT’s goal is to increase the security of our campus and facilities by identifying potential threats to the safety of our community and taking steps to mitigate those threats.
