APIFSA presents: 2021 Lunar New Year Celebration

On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Asian Pacific Islander Faculty & Staff Association and Staff Assembly hosted the inaugural Lunar New Year Celebration featuring:

  • ACA Lion Dance who shared the history and art of lion dancing
  • Professor Min Zhou and grad student Suong Thai  who each shared about the history of this celebration and personal family traditions
  • A panel of staff who dove deeper into each of their own – new and old – traditions
  • UCLA Teaching Kitchen’s Chef Julia who prepared a special dumpling recipe for this celebration

APIFSA is a staff affinity group focused on building community and sharing cultural knowledge and insights with the entire Bruin family and beyond. Below are some of the resources we have gathered from this celebration to share with you.
