Executive Board

Samantha Nelson serves as the Vice President of Information Systems for the UCLA Staff Assembly Executive Board (AY 2023-2024) and Data Manager for the Office of Graduate Medical Education within the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA Health. She holds a Master of Science degree in Data Analytics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Public Administration. Her areas of interest and expertise include qualitative and quantitative data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.

With a robust passion and proficiency in data analysis, operational streamlining, website development, and systems management spanning several years of dedication and diligent growth, Samantha integrates these strengths into her work to develop creative and efficient solutions that address complex business issues.

Her goals within the VP of Information Systems role include bolstering the online presence of Staff Assembly by ensuring that the outward facing platform is engaging to all stakeholders, streamlining the workflow associated with content creation and web platform management, and leveraging the data from website traffic to provide objective recommendations to the Board on website optimization and University-wide engagement.

Samantha is also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and completed an Interpreter Training Program while attending college. Some of her fondest memories are of working alongside and with the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Deaf-Blind, and Deaf+ communities and the friendships that she has fostered within them.
