Stephanie Ferguson-Praete received her Bachelor of Administration in Marketing & Nonprofit Management from the University of Oklahoma.  She grew up in Southern California and frequently went to UCLA Football games with her dad, who was a Defensive Lineman for UCLA 1978-1983. UCLA has always held a large piece of her heart and when got the opportunity to work for the Economics Department in 2018, she jumped at it.  

She started working for Econ as their Events & Marketing Coordinator. In 2022, she became the Associate Director for Summer Institutes, helping to manage the department’s pre-college program that oversees over 300 high school students every summer.  

When not at work, she works with a Fundraising Solutions Software company, OneCause, to assist various nonprofit organizations in their fundraising needs. In her free time, she plays and cuddles with her two adorable pugs, Finley and Jasper, or goes swimming!  

In 2023, Stephanie got married and just 6-weeks later, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. After 1.5 years of treatments, she can finally say she is currently Cancer Free! During this trying time, UCLA played a pivotal role. The faculty and staff helped ensure flexibility with work schedules and understanding of her limitations. And UCLA’s amazing benefits helped her not break the bank with all the costly treatments.  

She wanted to payback UCLA for all that it has done for her and she knew serving with Staff Assembly would be a great start. She has a diverse background in events — having worked with nonprofits in the past – and is excited to utilize her experience in the VP of Events role.
