Participation in the Fair provides small business owners with an opportunity to reach over 400 UCLA departments who purchase over $250 million annually in products and services. Additionally, the staff members who attend the fair are encouraged to consider patronizing the represented businesses for personal goods and services where appropriate.
The Small Business Resource Fair is coordinated by the UCLA Staff Assembly, an organization dedicated to promoting the interests and welfare of all staff members. Staff Assembly offers scholarships for career enhancement and professional growth, enrichment programs, and resource opportunities to UCLA staff members.
- Celebration of Giving
During the holiday season, UCLA Staff Assembly co-sponsors the annual UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital Toy Drive and UCLA Food Drive through the Celebration of Giving event.
The holiday toy drive provides a panorama of developmentally appropriate toys, and creative art supplies that children may use throughout their hospitalization, reducing anxiety, and increasing opportunities to be a kid again. Playing games at bedside, engaging in songwriting activities, and creating artful masterpieces, are a few of the countless activities that medically fragile children at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA will enjoy because of your generosity and participation in the toy drive.
Hosted by UCLA Events & Transportation, the UCLA Food Drive will be collecting goods and funds from Nov. 14 to Dec. 15 to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the UCLA Food Closet, a UCLA Community Programs Office initiative that provides struggling students with a helping hand.
The UCLA Staff Assembly, with sponsorship from the UCLA Healthy Campus Initiative, hosts an Annual True Bruin Move and Groove 5K on the UCLA campus. Team up with your family, friends and co-workers and join this unique event that aims at providing those with ties to UCLA an even greater chance to connect to the university by showing their Bruin pride in a fun and healthy atmosphere.
