Executive Board

Laura Schreiber

Health Member-at-Large

Laura Schreiber previously served as the Vice President of Digital Engagement for the UCLA Staff Assembly Board and thoroughly enjoyed getting back to her roots working in social media. However, she found many positions on the board enticing, especially the opportunity to advocate for staff and promote staff wellness, so she has shifted into the Health Member-at-Large position to serve staff via multiple avenues.

Laura received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Visual Media and minor in International Relations from American University. She interned for XM Satellite radio and then WETA, the Washington DC PBS affiliate, which then led to a part-time job during college, and her first full-time position after graduation. She created and managed the social media for four educational websites within the Learning Media department, and also helped with website content management, graphic design, and video editing. Sunny Southern California was calling her name, though, so she moved west and began working at CSUN managing the social media, website, and digital advertising for the Valley Performing Arts Center. She then did consulting in digital media before landing at UCLA as the Communications Manager for the IT department in the David Geffen School of Medicine.

Laura is now the Program Manager for the Neuroscience Theme, focused on lifting up those researching and treating the brain, especially with interest to finding a cure for, and destigmatizing, mental illness. Laura has enjoyed and looks forward to continuing to apply her career knowledge for digital engagement, her personal experiences for staff wellness, and her love of people to build deeper connections with staff across campus through Staff Assembly. When she is not taking pictures and posting on social media or fighting for staff salary increases, she enjoys hiking, helping her dog live his best life, volunteering for Make-a-Wish, and salsa dancing. She is also a big fan of the Dodgers and all things UCLA athletics. Go, Bruins!
